Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE Official Release - Offline Mode and Key Improvements Ahead

Greetings, Hunters.

This is Gwanghun Kim, the executive producer of ‘Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE.’

We sincerely appreciate the passionate support and valuable feedback we’ve received since the release of Advanced Access.

Our entire development team has been carefully reading and going through all the comments, reviews, and discussions with close attention.

We are greatly encouraged by the positive feedback you’ve shared. At the same time, we feel a deep sense of responsibility for the honest concerns raised regarding aspects we hadn't anticipated or where we fell short.

Our commitment is simple: the feedback you share should lead to meaningful improvements you can truly feel in the game.

With that, we’d like to walk you through several key areas the team is currently prioritizing and actively working to improve.

Key Improvements and Action Plans

1. Resolving Always-Online Connection Issues and improving Technical Stability

We understand the frustration caused by the game’s current Always-Online requirement and are actively working on a solution to support a fully offline play mode.

We will prioritize this and strive to implement improvements as quickly as possible.

  • External Solution Discontinuation Plan: It has come to our attention that the external security solution previously used to prevent tampering and hacking caused inconvenience to players. Once offline mode is added, we will discontinue the use of this external solution and reinforce our in-house security system to ensure game stability even in offline mode.
  • Technical Stability: We know that technical issues such as input errors, server disconnections, freezing, or problems joining Co-Op sessions can be frustrating.
  • Our team is actively investigating these issues and will resolve them to ensure a smoother, more stable gameplay experience.

2. Camera and Battle Intuitiveness Improvements

We’ve heard your concerns about the camera and targeting system disrupting battle flow.
As a first step, we improved Lock-On Camera control when using gamepad and refined the lock-on experience in certain chapters.

  • Lock-On Camera Adjustment: Many have reported the issue where enemies do not remain centered on the screen during when Locked-On, making it difficult to maintain visibility and causing discomfort. We have confirmed that this was due to the camera's wide movement range when target is Locked-On. We will promptly address this by reducing that range the while still allowing free camera movement, providing a comfortable Lock-On Camera experience.
  • In the future, we’ll add an optional feature that keeps enemies centered on screen for players who prefer it.
  • Targeting Priority: We will resolve the issue where the next target’s priority is inconsistent after defeating an enemy and implement a more intuitive target switching system that prioritizes the enemy closest to the player.

3. Quality Improvements and Optimization

We will continuously improve minor but recurring elements that disrupt the flow of gameplay.

[Completed Improvement]

  • Removal of Unnecessary Messages: We’ve taken measures to prevent unwanted browser pop-ups (e.g., 72-Hour Advanced Access pop-up) and playtime notifications that scroll across the screen during battles from disrupting the flow of the game.

[Planned improvements]

  • We will continuously implement bug fixes for issues causing inconvenience in the game, consistently improving minor inconveniences encountered during play.
  • Intermittent frame drops will be improved.

In Closing

Going forward, ‘Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE’ will continue improving and refining the game. As we don't consider launch to be the end of development, your feedback will remain a key guide as we move ahead.

Your valuable feedback is a great source of motivation for us. If you have any thoughts while playing the game, please share them through our official community channels. We’re committed to listening closely and delivering updates that make your experience better every step of the way.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Executive Producer, Gwanghun Kim
