[IMPORTANT] Data Inheritance & Demo Plan
1) Data Inheritance Rules
✅ Inheritable:
- Items from Meow Codes (e.g., strawberrycat): we’ll try to auto-grant them when you launch the full release. If they don’t show up immediately, please re-enter the code in the Meow Code menu, or refresh after Steam sync.
- Account data: your coin balance, non-Headgear items purchased with coins (e.g., room decor), in-game achievement progress, leaderboard rankings, and settings will carry over.
❌ Not Inheritable:
- All Headgear from Playtest/Demo (including drops and crafted items). Reason: Steam Inventory is AppID-isolated; cross-app transfers aren’t supported and we aim to keep progression fair in the full release.
2) Demo Update & Shutdown
- 🎃 Halloween Update: the Demo’s seasonal content (wallpaper mode, new cosmetics, holiday achievements) is live now.
- 👋 Demo Shutdown: the Demo will be fully retired on Nov 11, 18:00 PST / 02:00 UTC.
- 🎁 Friendly Reminder: if you haven’t claimed the limited-time Demo Headgear yet, please use the Meow Codes [Demo] and [strawberrycat] before retirement.

- Decor & Collection: unlock all (hundreds of) cat decorations, cat house and cat desk decorations, plus more Headgear.
- Drops & Crafting: enable Epic-tier Headgear drops and higher-tier crafting.
- Music & White Noise: access 51 tracks (lofi/classical/light) and 36 curated white-noise sounds.
- Core Features: custom Pomodoro settings and a complete wallpaper mode.
- Achievements & Leaderboards: unlock 76 in-game achievements; leaderboards for white noise, crafting, and the gallery.

Q: I see a “Steam error” when opening Gift Box. What can I do? A: Gift Box rely on the Steam Inventory/Community services. This error usually indicates an unstable connection to Steam.
- Check: open the Steam Community Market from Headgear → Market in-game; if it doesn’t load, box opening will fail.
- Retry: try again later, or use a more stable or locally appropriate routing solution for your region.
- Wait: if many players report the same issue, it’s likely a temporary Steam-side incident; please wait for recovery.
