Dev Notes: Weapons

Hi everyone, this is the Illegal Turtle team here!
Gothic Clicker is coming out on August 22nd, and in order not to waste any time, we decided to release “developer notes” in the form of articles so that you can familiarize yourself with some of the features and lore before the release.

Our first article is dedicated to WEAPONS.



The game will have the following types of weapons:
ImageSwords - balanced weapons. Moderately strong and fast. For those who like stability.
ImageMaces - heavy weapons. Slow attacks, but crushing. A competent approach will allow you to win in 1 blow.
ImageAxes - a weapon for active players who like to click. Speed is slightly lower than swords, and damage is slightly higher.
ImageBows are the weapon of hunters. Allows you to effectively hunt game and kill enemies at a distance, before they even reach you.
ImageShields - protects against enemy damage and can complement weapons. Some mages will also do well with a shield.
ImageRunes - a magical weapon that works independently and does not require the attention of your hero. Very effective, but requires the appropriate skills.

Melee weapons are one-handed and two-handed.
One-handed weapons can also be combined with other one-handed weapons, or with a shield.
In total in the game (at the moment) more than 100 types of different weapons.
Each weapon has its own original name, appearance, set of characteristics and techniques.

Techniques


Each weapon has two techniques.
Techniques are special abilities that are inherent to the selected weapon.
Below we can see Guard using “Geyser” technique with the hammer, and militiaman using Starfall technique with a bow.

There are magic techniques like this!
There are also quite classic techniques (“Powerful blow”, “Blow with a swing”).
Some of the techniques support active play when you want to click more (“Angry strike”, “Aiming”).
There are also those aimed at the idle side of the game. For example, the “auto-hunt” technique on some bows, which allows you to hunt automatically.

Ore Processing



You have the Philosopher's Stone, a magical artifact that allows you to upgrade your weapons for gold right during combat and pump up your techniques. But gold alone will not be enough to increase the effectiveness of your weapons by an order of magnitude.
The best way to increase the quality of your weapons is by processing ore, but you'll need a variety of minerals, that you encounter along the way. The experience of an ore miner from a previous life will help you figure out what's what!
You can also dismantle weapons you already have for minerals.

You can also spend minerals to create spheres.
Spheres are inserted into free slots and give the item magical properties.
We can say that spheres are universal techniques that can be used to enchant any weapon.
