"NeverAwake FLASHBACK" Collaboration Track Now Available!

As the 5th entry in our 10-track update series, we are excited to introduce "Sleeping Bloom (NeverAwake Chill Out Remix)" from the nightmare-themed shooter NeverAwake FLASHBACK.
We have a special introduction from the developer, Mr.Sawatari, so please take a moment to listen and reflect on his words.

Developer’s Comments
Every time I launch Chill with You, the word "distance" inexplicably comes to mind.
Satone-chan feels close, just beyond the screen, yet my fingers can never reach her. Even though we exchange words, it feels like they don’t quite reach the heart of the matter. She’s right there, yet she feels dreamlike and fleeting—a distance that feels like she might vanish if I reach out. Rem, the protagonist of NeverAwake, was also a girl caught between dreams and reality, struggling with how to relate to herself and the world around her.

Following a traumatic incident, Rem slips into a coma. Within her dreams, she comes face to face with her family’s feelings and her own buried emotions, gradually reshaping how they perceive distance and connection with others. Even though the two games head in completely different directions, there might be something that quietly connects them.

…And on another note, Rem has the same "indoor girl with black hair" vibe as Satone-chan. I couldn't help but imagine, "I wonder if she’ll grow up to be a wonderful girl like her."

Now, it’s time for a member of our development team (who has, of course, cleared the game) to introduce this collaboration title.

NeverAwake and NeverAwake FLASHBACK are nightmare-themed twin-stick shooters that follow Rem, a young girl trapped in a bad dream, as she battles terrifying monsters.

The first thing that stands out is how polished the horror-tinged action shooting feels. Simply firing at enemies is incredibly satisfying on its own.

But after spending some time with the game, another layer of appeal begins to emerge. At its core, this is also a story about a girl confronting and overcoming her trauma and inner struggles.

As the player improves and pushes further ahead, Rem’s story continues to unfold. When she finally wakes up, what fate awaits her? That answer is left entirely in the player’s hands.

Both members of our development team responsible for this introduction purchased both titles on their release day, and the sense of accomplishment and release they felt upon waking from the nightmare—along with the lingering impact of the ending—has stayed with them ever since.

NeverAwake is a stage-based action shooter, while NeverAwake FLASHBACK is an action shooter that incorporates roguelite elements and tells an epilogue to the original story.
