We’re thrilled to officially announce the FIA Esports x Assetto Corsa Rally – Global Rally Tour, the very first FIA esports competition to be hosted inside Assetto Corsa Rally.
In partnership with the FIA, this global competition gives rally drivers from around the world the chance to prove themselves on the international stage, with the ultimate goal of reaching the live FIA Finals in Shanghai during FIA Awards Week.
If you fancy your chances at competing in the FIA Finals in Shanghai, here’s everything you need to know.
Entry Requirements
In order for you to enter:
• Drivers must be at least 14 years old to compete.
• Drivers must register through the FIA website.
• Drivers must declare their passport nationality and date of birth during registration.
• A driver’s competitive region is based on passport nationality, not esports licence nationality.
• Drivers can represent themselves as a Competitor if legally considered an adult in their country.
• Underage drivers (14-17 yrs old) must nominate an adult Competitor with a valid licence.
• You do not need a license to participate in the online qualifier, you will need a license if you qualify for the Regional Shootouts.
The Online Qualifier
The online qualifying will take place within the Events section of Assetto Corsa Rally and this is the only route into the Regional Shootouts.
You can have as many attempts as you want to set the fastest possible stage time during the Qualification Window and only times recorded during the official qualifying period will count.
Qualification Window
• Opens: 12 May 2026 – 00:00 GMT
• Closes: 25 May 2026 – 23:59 GMT
All times will be captured using an in-game event dedicated server where the same car and stage combination will be used for all competitors.
Official Combo
• Car: Hyundai i20
• Stage: Wales – Hafren North – Cwmbiga – Variant 1 of 6
Only times set during the official qualifying period will count.
Regional Shootouts
Once the online qualifier has ended:
• The top 8 drivers from each region will advance to their Regional Shootout.
• Europe receives 16 qualification spots due to its combined regional format.
There will be six Regional Shootouts in total:
• North America
• South America
• Europe
• Africa
• Middle East & North Africa
• Asia Pacific
Drivers will battle it out within their region for a place at the FIA Finals.
FIA Finals Qualification
• The top 2 drivers from each Regional Shootout qualify for the FIA Finals.
• Europe will qualify 4 drivers due to its expanded event.
• In total, 16 drivers will reach the FIA Finals in Shanghai.
FIA Finals Format
The FIA Finals take place in Shanghai during FIA Awards Week (7–13 December 2026) and will operate a knockout bracket format.
The bracket will be structured as follows:
1. Round of 16
2. Quarter Finals
3. Semi Finals
4. Grand Final
Drivers are seeded based on practice performance, and every knockout matchup gives each driver one timed run to advance.
• Fastest driver advances
• Semi-final losers compete for third place
• The Grand Final takes place live on stage during the FIA Awards
Where to find the event in-game
On the main menu, head to the events section and click "FIA Esport" along the top.
